Backyard Wedding in Sandpoint, Idaho

These two desired a relaxed wedding that included family while forgoing some of the traditional frills. They exchanged their vows on the property where they are currently constructing their new home, located in Sandpoint, Idaho.

I couldn’t imagine a more perfect day for this couple. I had the privilege of hiking with S and E for their engagement session this spring. We discussed wedding details as well as life in general. They even told me about how they met on an airplane – talk about a killer seating arrangement. Having insight into their values and personalities before their wedding day made it easier for me to capture their essence on this special occasion.

Prior to the wedding, I asked E for a shot list, and her requests were refreshingly simple. She wanted a few portraits with the groom and one big group photo. The rest was a bonus. In fact, I might just make a giant group photo a staple for future weddings; how wonderful would it be to have all your loved ones in a single image? Absolutely priceless.

They exchanged vows, giggled after momentarily misplacing the rings, and a marathon-running guest came to the rescue. After they said, “We do,” children danced, guests enjoyed beverages from Matchwood Brewing’s Tiny Tap Truck named Ester, and a beautiful summer solstice celebration was had.

Here’s to the newlyweds in their stunning new home!
